Transformers for Downlights

Are your lights overheating? Did you know they could actually be a fire hazard? Have you considered changing to L.E.D đź’ˇ Transformers are an important component in the installation of downlights. Downlights are a type of lighting fixture that are recessed into the ceiling, and they typically require a low voltage power source to function. Transformers are used to convert the high voltage electricity from the building’s electrical system into a low voltage that is suitable for use with downlights. They are located in your ceiling and can quickly become a fire hazard if they malfunction. Let us change you over to LED lighting for a more modern and safer alternative.

LED Ceiling Lights

LED lighting is a more energy-efficient and long-lasting option for illuminating roofs compared to traditional downlights with transformers. These lights use less electricity and have a longer lifespan This reduces the need for frequent replacements and maintenance. Additionally, LED lights produce less heat and are more versatile in terms of brightness and color options, making them a better choice for roof lighting.


These are transformers which could have easily caught on fire. We recently removed these transformers from a roof. They were buried under insulation and were a fire hazard.

It’s always a good idea to have your transformers checked by a Level 2 Technician. We always suggest getting them checked to ensure they comply to fire safety regulations. Also worth noting, if your lights are flickering, then you may have a fire hazard and this will also need to be checked.
